Position: Sales Director – East Coast Expansion - Distributed Generation / BTM

About the Role

A leading clean energy company with a dominant presence in the Western U.S. is expanding its footprint into the East—and we’re looking for a high-impact Sales Director to lead the charge. If you’re a driven, strategic sales professional ready to build new markets, shape regional strategy, and lead complex sales cycles in solar, storage, and distributed energy infrastructure, this is your opportunity.

This role is for someone who wants to own a region, not just manage accounts. You'll develop go-to-market strategies, engage directly with clients on Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) and Energy Services Agreement (ESA) opportunities, and build a regional partner network to accelerate growth. You’ll have the support of a seasoned cross-functional team and the credibility of a company with a track record of execution.


What You’ll Do

  • Own sales performance and strategic growth across the Eastern U.S.
  • Lead direct origination of solar, storage, and energy infrastructure projects for commercial, industrial, and public sector clients - focused on BTM Sales
  • Develop and implement territory-specific strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline from lead generation through closing.
  • Guide contract negotiations (PPA, ESA, leases, or direct purchases).
  • Collaborate with finance, engineering, development, and legal to move deals forward efficiently.
  • Track market trends, regulatory updates, and incentive programs across Eastern states.
  • Mentor junior team members and help recruit new talent to support the region.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and with strategic partners.


Who You Are

  • A proven closer with 7+ years in clean energy, distributed generation, or EaaS sales in the Eastern U.S.
  • Strategic thinker with 2+ years leading or mentoring sales teams.
  • Entrepreneurial and energized by market building, this is not a maintenance role.
  • Comfortable leading negotiations and managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Adept at identifying opportunities, structuring creative solutions, and moving fast.
  • Excellent communicator who can build trust with clients and cross-functional teams alike.
  • Tech-savvy with strong analytical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, etc.).
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in solar, energy storage, or energy services.
