The Senior Project Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the sourcing and closing of tax equity and debt financing for renewable energy projects. This individual will manage key aspects of the financing process, ensuring a smooth and timely execution. The role requires extensive coordination with both internal teams and external stakeholders, along with a strong foundation in project finance. Success in this position will hinge on organization, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. This position reports directly to the Structured Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Equity / Debt Diligence & Closing Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for multiple projects across various tax equity and debt funding structures.
Coordinate with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to develop and deliver essential documentation and deliverables, including:
Excel-based financial models and appraisal reports
Project agreements (e.g., EPC, interconnection, site access, SREC, O&M)
Land surveys, title insurance, and legal documentation
Technical and engineering diligence reports
Track construction and commissioning milestones to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and financing requirements.
Maintain and update project-level cash flow forecasts and budget summaries.
Lead and participate in regular investor/lender calls, addressing inquiries with both quantitative and qualitative insights.
Manage virtual data rooms and facilitate information flow.
Ensure seamless transition of projects to the post-close operations team.
Support investor and lender outreach initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, energy, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in renewable energy or project finance.
Prior experience with tax equity and debt financing is required.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex financial models.
Familiarity with VBA is a plus.
Strong understanding of project finance structures, particularly within the renewables sector.
High level of initiative, ownership, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Deep interest in renewable energy and a long-term desire to grow within the sector.
