Substation Estimator

root/edge is recruiting for an Estimator for an established EPC firm in Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing division with a pipeline of work– this is a direct hire position offering a generous package. 

Ideal candidates will have experience in the delivery of Transmission, Distribution, or Substation projects in the US. 

The Role

As a Substation Estimator, your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. 

• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received, and work with the Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business. 

• Critical for success is the ability to produce highly accurate work promptly, and maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and Civil Engineer, 10 + years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of both 

• Estimating experience with Substations and/or Transmission Line work 

• Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record 

• Experience in calculating man-hours 

• Desirable but not essential to previously worked in the field 

• Solid MS Office and estimating software skills 

• Negotiating experience 

Travel may account for up to 20% of the time.
