About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Wind Development Director to lead our U.S. wind energy strategy from the ground up. Based in Houston, you’ll work closely with both U.S. and international teams to shape site strategy, secure land positions, and drive early-stage project development. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a growth environment and wants to build something lasting in the energy transition.
What You’ll Do
Identify and evaluate greenfield wind development opportunities in ERCOT and surrounding markets (SPP, MISO, WECC)
Lead land acquisition efforts and build relationships with landowners, utilities, and key stakeholders
Oversee permitting and ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
Manage project budgets and schedules through early-stage development
Build and lead a local development team as the portfolio grows
Collaborate with internal engineering, finance, and legal teams to ensure successful execution
What We’re Looking For
7+ years of wind development experience in the U.S. with a strong network in ERCOT or adjacent markets
Deep knowledge of permitting, land acquisition, and regulatory pathways for wind projects
Proven ability to drive projects from concept to NTP (or beyond)
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Experience working in a cross-cultural or international business environment is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental studies, or a related field preferred
