CLP Engineering is looking for a senior electrical engineer who really knows substations, someone who can take a project from the first sketch all the way through commissioning and own it the whole way. If you've spent years in utility work and you're ready for more responsibility (and more say in how projects get done), we want to talk to you.

What you'll be doing

• Design power systems and substations from the ground up
• Build engineering analyses and models in ETAP
• Write technical specifications and bills of material
• Get out in the field to evaluate existing systems and equipment
• Run full project lifecycles, from planning through commissioning
• Put together cost estimates and keep GIS databases current
• Mentor junior engineers and help them grow
• Manage schedules, talk directly with clients, and keep deliverables on track

What you need to bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus
• A current PE license
• 6-8 years of experience in the electric utility industry
• Deep knowledge of medium voltage substations and distribution systems
• Experience with power system analysis and protective device coordination
• Hands on experience with ETAP or similar software
• Strong blueprint and specification writing skills
• Comfort working in Microsoft Project
• A valid driver's license
• U.S. citizenship (this role sits under a federal contract, so it's required)

Good to know

• Expect to travel about 20 to 30% of the time
• You'll need to qualify for Military Base Security Access Clearance
• This is a hybrid role based out of Corona, CA
