Substation and Microgrid Design Supervisor

$120,000 to $143,000 a year, plus eligibility for the Short Term Incentive Plan

Our client needs someone who can run a drafting and design team and own the full design lifecycle for substations and microgrids, not just draft plans and pass them along. If you've led a team before and you know your way around AutoCAD and a set of grounding grids, we want to talk to you.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise a drafting and design team from start to finish
• Develop designs that meet company standards and procedures
• Create plans, elevations, sections, and bills of material for substations and microgrids
• Prepare single line, three line, schematic, and wiring diagrams
• Keep an eye on team deliverables for quality and timing
• Run design reviews for code and technical compliance
• Head out to the field to verify existing facilities
• Support customers directly and help integrate designs
• Keep company design standards current

What you need to bring

• At least 10 years of overall experience, with 5 or more years designing electrical systems for substations or microgrids
• A solid grasp of electrical circuits and power flow
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation, Bluebeam, and MS Office
• Ability to layout equipment and route conduit, cable tray, duct banks, and grounding grids
• U.S. citizenship
• A valid driver's license that meets the company's fleet policy
• Ability to qualify for Military Base Security Access Clearance
• Real leadership experience, since you'll be running a team

Nice to have

• Associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or something related
• Time spent as a Team Lead or Design Supervisor
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation, AutoDesk Inventor, SDS, Arc GIS, PLS CADD, or Pole Foreman

Good to know

• Some travel to project sites should be expected
• This is a hybrid role based out of Denver, CO
• You'll need to pass pre employment substance abuse testing
