Overview:
Are you experienced in renewable energy project finance with strong financial modeling skills? This hybrid role offers the chance to contribute to a mission-driven organization raising and managing billions in third-party capital for clean energy projects. The Portfolio Finance Manager will be a key player in managing asset-level financing across a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to senior leadership in the Capital Markets team, the Portfolio Finance Manager will take ownership of ongoing financing activities for projects in both construction and operations phases. Core responsibilities include:
Lead financing workflows such as tax equity fundings, debt conversions, refinancing, partnership buyouts, and asset sales.
Review and negotiate amendments to financial and project documentation; manage approval and consent processes with financing partners.
Oversee due diligence processes at financial close or funding milestones, coordinating across legal, technical, and internal stakeholders.
Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (Construction, Corporate Finance, Asset Management) to ensure compliance with financing terms and deliverables.
Maintain and audit tracking models; support ad hoc modeling needs from internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain strong working relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, and other capital providers.
Present project updates and analysis to internal executives and external financing partners.
What You Bring:
Proven experience in project finance, particularly within the energy or infrastructure sector.
Understanding of renewable energy development, including solar or storage technologies.
Familiarity with tax equity and partnership finance structures.
Expertise in managing debt and equity transactions through the full lifecycle of a project.
Strong modeling background and ability to translate complex financial structures into clear, actionable insights.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interface with senior executives and external financial institutions.
Required Qualifications:
5–8+ years of experience in project finance, with at least 2 years in renewable energy.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; MBA or CFA preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. energy markets and renewable project economics.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work on a hybrid schedule (3+ days/week in office) from one of the designated office locations.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
