Position: Director of Operations

Summary:

A dynamic utility services provider is looking for a results-driven Director of Operations to lead and manage regional field operations. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this role will oversee a multi-functional team and ensure operational excellence across a defined geographic territory.

The division delivers a broad range of services, including overhead and underground electrical distribution construction and maintenance, transmission work, civil infrastructure support, and select EPC projects. Services are performed under Master Service Agreements and project-based contracts. The team also plays a key role in storm response efforts across the central and eastern U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership:

• Champion a culture of safety across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and client expectations.
• Lead incident investigations, develop corrective actions, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
• Hold teams accountable through safety audits and performance monitoring.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all work meets internal procedures and client specifications.
• Reduce rework and manage customer damage claims.
• Improve performance metrics through quality initiatives and oversight.

Financial Oversight:

• Drive operational efficiency and cost control to meet financial targets.
• Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and bid development.
• Oversee contract negotiations, billing approvals, and accounts receivable management.

Client Relations & Growth:

• Support business development efforts and expansion within the regional footprint.
• Maintain strong relationships with current clients and develop new opportunities.
