Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects within the power sector. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Project Manager will optimize available resources, foster strong client relationships, and drive operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a leadership role requiring a proactive, results-driven professional with a strong background in civil or electrical construction.
Project Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all work meets contractual, safety, and quality requirements.
Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust resources to meet milestones.
Budget & Cost Control: Manage budgets, track costs, and provide accurate forecasts for project completion.
Quality & Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety policies and maintain rigorous quality control measures on-site.
Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and maintaining strong relationships.
Resource Optimization: Ensure effective allocation of labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve issues quickly to maintain project momentum.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners to achieve project objectives.
Industry Expertise: Apply knowledge of utility construction standards, including familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), to guide project execution.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years in civil or electrical construction, with at least 2 years in a project management capacity for a self-performing contractor.
Proven track record delivering utility, substation, or transmission line projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Leadership & Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and build client trust.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
