The company pairs US engineering with partner factories overseas and configures each unit late in the build. This lets it deliver in about a year, in a market where lead times often run several years. It was founded in 2024 and is backed by leading climate and venture investors. It already holds a nine figure contracted order book covering more than 10 GW of new capacity for US utilities, data center developers and renewable developers.

About This Role

You will own the controls and monitoring systems on power and distribution transformers, including HV units at 230kV and 345kV. That covers on load tap changer (OLTC) controls, cooling control, protection and monitoring, and the interface to the customer's SCADA. Utilities and data centers want transformers they can see into. You decide what gets monitored, how, and how it connects to their systems. Built in monitoring is a core differentiator for this company, not an afterthought.

Key Responsibilities

• Design control cabinets and control schemes for transformers, including OLTC controls, cooling control, and alarm and trip logic
• Select and integrate monitoring sensors and devices, including DGA, bushing, temperature and load monitoring
• Lead communications and SCADA integration, including DNP3, Modbus and IEC 61850
• Produce control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and test procedures
• Work with US utility and data center customers on specifications, integration and design reviews
• Lead factory acceptance testing of control systems and provide site support when needed
• Partner with the electrical and mechanical design teams and the partner factories so controls fit the build

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in controls, protection or monitoring for power transformers or substation equipment
• Experience with HV equipment at 230kV and 345kV, as well as distribution transformers
• Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI and IEC standards
• Experience with US utility customer requirements
• Hands on experience with PLCs, relays or IEDs, and SCADA protocols
• Comfortable with electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar)

Preferred:

• Experience with protection relay coordination
• Transformer factory test experience
• Experience with data center power architecture
