Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution (Construction Execution & Scheduling Focus)
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex | Full-Time | Hybrid Field/Office-Based
Overview:
Our client, a growing transmission and distribution contractor with a strong pipeline of substation and T-line work, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of construction projects across North Texas. This individual will work closely with field teams, particularly superintendents, to drive project delivery, schedule adherence, and site coordination. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong foundation in utility-scale T&D construction and deep experience managing schedules in high-demand environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of project execution from pre-mobilization through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
Collaborate directly with site superintendents and field crews to coordinate daily and weekly construction activities.
Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
Identify and resolve potential delays, material or resource conflicts, and logistical challenges on active job sites.
Lead weekly progress meetings with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to monitor performance and address issues.
Ensure project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and reports are maintained and distributed according to project timelines.
Interface with engineering, procurement, and client teams to ensure alignment and resolve execution-phase discrepancies.
Monitor project budgets and forecasts to ensure profitability and alignment with contractual commitments.
Enforce job site safety policies and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
5+ years of project management experience in the transmission and/or substation construction sector.
Proven track record of managing field teams and coordinating with superintendents in fast-paced T&D environments.
Advanced scheduling skills; experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with EPC and/or design-build delivery methods.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to travel to local/regional project sites as needed.
